Everyone remembers what an old school photo rove is! Photographers of all ages and skill levels grab their favorite camera and explore a certain area or location for street style photography at its finest! I had a rare evening off and decided to throw one together for memories sake of going out with my friends from Exposure Detroit in what seems like forever ago.

It was about 27 degrees out with a pending blizzard headed towards Ann Arbor, so there were not many brave souls that turned up this round. I ended up meeting up with friend and photographer Luis LS, and photographed several long exposure images from Main street, all the way through central U of M campus.

Finally the blizzard rolled in, and we were forced to stop shooting when there was enough snow on the rim of the camera lens to be noticeable in the photograph. I will be putting together more random photo roves through out 2012 in various locations. Keep an eye out for adventure!

This is an image that I captured of the Ross Business School on U of M campus from the photo rove. It was photographed at F11, 13 second exposure, ISO 200, approximately 3200k WB with a Nikon D90 camera body and a Nikkor 35mm 1.8 lens for all of you tech gurus out there.

Hello everyone,

I hope that you all are gearing up to enjoy time with your families for the holidays! I can’t tell you how great it feels to be on break from school at the moment personally!

Even though school is done for the semester, I will be planning a lot of cool stuff for break which includes of course more photo shoots, creating art, and seeing family.

I just recently finished another amazing shoot with my favorite model and muse Inna Kova! She is going to be famous, so you all best recognize! Here is one of my favorite images from our latest shoot:

I hope everyone has a great break, and I will be sharing more new work soon!

Hello Everyone,

The end of the semester is upon us! For many of you, that means finals, finals, and more finals! However, in the midst of all of the craziness, there is this super awesome event happening tomorrow night called the UM Artists & Designers coming out project!

This project was designed by U of M student Anya Klapischak, who has seen it through for over three months now. Anya has gone above and beyond to showcase the work of her fellow students/peers and advisers, and has done an amazing job I must say!

This project allows any U of M art and design student or faculty member to come out and announce themselves as an artist on the stage of the Michigan Theater in downtown Ann Arbor. Anya has been relentlessly collecting donations of $2 apiece for slides from artists for the past several months.

I had the honor of meeting Anya after the announcement of the project in a Penny Stamps lecture. It was shortly after that we had discussed collaboration opportunities, and I was granted the honor of designing the programs for the event (see attached). I will also be joining my fellow peers to announce myself as an artist on the stage tomorrow night!

This event is free to the public between 5-7pm tomorrow night. Come out and support artists of all backgrounds as we take Ann Arbor by storm! The Michigan Theater is located at: 603 East Liberty Street Ann Arbor, MI 48104. There will be an after party at the Vintage Twin immediately after located at: 1112 South University Ann Arbor, MI 48104.

The past few weeks of school have been crazy, I am not going to lie! Last minute project adaptations, assignments, and life happening all around …

The past few weeks of school have been crazy, I am not going to lie! Last minute project adaptations, assignments, and life happening all around me. What is life though without a little chaos? Life would be boring without some form of drama.

Amongst the drama, we held the 2011 All Student Gallery Exhibition at the Slusser gallery of the U of M art school. I entered a large 32×46 oil painting done on canvas to toss my hat into the ring. The painting was created with my friend Jess by body painting the entire front of her body with body safe paints. We then smushed her onto the canvas to represent the ‘human element’ of the piece.

I went through several trial and error periods to get a positioning of the flower elements which represent earth in the piece to my liking. I ended up roughing them in with charcoal, and then beginning to paint.

Really the concept of ‘Elements’ (also the title of this piece) came into play within the last day while I was working on it. The piece seemed very unfinished with just the form and the flowers, so I picked my favorite color of blue, and started going crazy in an experimental creative rampage. The result ended up being water which added another element. Air shortly followed as I added whisps into the piece, and I was rushing the piece (still wet) off to the Slusser gallery to display!

The gallery opened on November 18th, and closes on December 14th. It is commonly open between 9-5 M-F, and until 7pm on Wednesdays. I have uploaded a few images of my work from this show on the opening night. This piece is for sale. If interested, please e-mail or call to inquire.

For our final Maya project in digital studio this semester, we were asked to model an object in 3d of our choosing. I decided to pick a small toy Snoopy figure to model, and went slightly overboard. I ended up turning Snoopy into a robotic cyborg battling an alien creature in a fighting ring.
